South Korean automotive giant KIA, whose history dates back to 1944, announced that it will develop 11 new electric models for the next 5 years by keeping up with the technology with the ‘Plan S’ strategy in early 2020. KIA’s new logo, which aims to keep up with the rapid changes in the automotive industry with the development of technology, includes three concepts. The concepts of “symmetry”, “rhythm” and “rising value” each have a special meaning. Symmetry reflects the environmental responsibility of meeting customers’ transportation needs. Ritim, on the other hand, embodies the ever-changing spirit of KIA by acting according to the wishes of its customers with its renewed and creative energy. The rising value in the new logo, represented by a single connected line, symbolizes KIA’s commitment to delivering an exciting experience to customers at every touchpoint. Expressing that the automotive industry has entered a period of rapid change and innovation, Ho Sung Song, Chairman and CEO of KIA, said in a statement on the subject that the company proactively shaped these changes and adapted to the process.
