LedgerX launches first long-term option on Bitcoin
LedgerX has launched the first long-term option in Bitcoin.
The trade, called Long-Term Equity Anticipation Security (LEAPS), will expire on December 28, 2018.
Under the terms of the agreement, the buyer will have the right to buy Bitcoin for $10,000 if the price of Bitcoin is at or above $10,000 at that time. That is, the more the buyer price is above $10,000, the more profitable he or she will be leaving this deal.
The investment can be seen as a reflection of the confidence that the price will reach that level on the agreed date.
long-term options are seen as a sign of maturity in the industry. It also allows more institutional investors to take part in the investment vehicle in question.
The trade option was listed by LedgerX last Friday. The two institutional investors accepted the terms of the agreement a day later.
