Coinbase shuts down Wikileaks accounts – Blockage call from Wikileaks

WikiLeaks Shop, the commercial arm of WikiLeaks, an international non-profit organization based in Sweden that publishes sensitive documents of governments and other organizations while keeping its sources confidential, announced on Twitter that its crypto wallets and accounts are blocked by Coinbase.

The tweet shared by WikiLeaks Shop includes a screenshot of an email sent by Coinbase stating that the organization violated its terms of service and therefore its services cannot be accessed.

All revenues of WikiLeaks Shop are used for expenditures of WikiLeaks.. Users can pay the WikiLeaks Shop with Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dash, Dogecoin, Ethereum, Neo, Namecoin, Vertcoin, Monero and ZCash via Coinpayments.net.

WikiLeaks’ official Twitter account, In response to this decision, he announced that he will call a global blockchain for Coinbase next week.

Bitcoin advocate Andreas M. Antonopoulos said, “Coinbase repeats history.. Bitcoin has been playing an important role for WikiLeaks ever since nonprofits began to fail to use traditional banking systems.”
