Bitcoin ATM Arrives in Kosovo!
This week, local news reports that the first Bitcoin ATM has arrived in Kosovo. Telegraph newspaper:
“This ATM is expected to offer the most used virtual currencies (Ether, Dash, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Doge). There are 57 countries in the world that have virtual currency ATMs and Kosovo is now included in this list.”
The machine is operated by the Albvision Group and is located in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo.. The Albvision Group, which was founded in 2000 and has 54 employees, provides professional and strategic services for the information and security sectors such as banks and telecommunications.
For now, only Bitcoin can be traded from ATM, but the company will be in the near future. It plans to add 10 more cryptocurrencies.
Central Bank’s Warning
Like the Central Bank of Albania, the Central Bank of Kosovo has also issued a warning about cryptocurrencies.. This warning reads:
“The use of digital currencies such as Bitcoin is not regulated by law and can lead to financial losses. Anyone considering using digital currency in Kosovo should know that there is no institution that guarantees they will receive a refund in the event of a possible loss of money.”
The news that the Bitcoin ATM was available came shortly after this warning.
Some commercial banks, such as TED and Raiffeisen Banks, also stated that they do not trade digital currencies.. Raiffeisen Bank has officially announced that it does not accept Bitcoin for payments.
