4 Million Dollars of IOTA Users Stolen
A new cryptocurrency wallet heist and this time the target is IOTA. According to the news in CCN, hackers seized $ 4 million worth of IOTA tokens from users’ wallets.
The wallets of IOTA, which made a big splash in November 2017 and were then balanced between 2-3 dollars, were subjected to a carefully planned cyber attack. Hackers also used DDoS attack in the attack, ensuring that users could not access at least some of the stolen tokens.
In the end, at least $3.94m worth of IOTA was stolen. This was facilitated by a DDoS attack against all public nodes.

Easy Users Victims
When creating a new IOTA wallet, users must generate an 81 character wallet address. This can be done using several methods outlined on the Hello Iota website. Many new users found the instructions too complex and preferred online websites to generate this address.. Afterwards, it turned out to be a terrible decision.
The most popular website for online address generation is now “System Cancel”.. We apologize” and set a bad example for users who don’t follow proper security protocol. The IOTA community and the developers themselves have warned users multiple times of the dangers of using untrusted online websites.. At the same time, some believe IOTA is partially wrong.. Many new users blame IOTA for the difficulty of the system because they don’t have enough patience or expertise to create their own addresses.
DDOS Attack
According to a blog post by IOTA expert Ralf Rottmann , hackers launched a DDoS attack to prevent being traced and investigated theft. Rottmann includes the following words in his article;
“The attackers knew how to reach the addresses.. You invited them to your wallet by handing the keys on silver plates.”
