Dutch Stellantis announced: Suspends production
Automotive is undoubtedly one of the sectors hit by the coronavirus epidemic that emerged in Wuhan, China in December 2019 and then spread all over the world. Production and deliveries began to be disrupted in countries that went into total closure with the decisions taken by governments around the world. In this context, a chip shortage has emerged in the automotive and technology sector.
If the crisis continues, the same path can be followed in July
The chip crisis that emerged after the coronavirus epidemic continues to affect the industry deeply. After world giant companies such as Renault, Honda, Toyota, another name is interrupting production due to the chip crisis. Stellantis, which was born in January 2021 as a result of the merger of FIAT Chrysler and Peugeot S.A., will take a 4-day break from production at its production facility in Italy. According to the statement, production at the Melfi factory will be completely stopped between 3-4 June and 28-29 June. Stellantis stated that if the supply problem continues, they can follow the same path in July.
