Trump’s former adviser: Cryptocurrencies will bring true freedom

Former Trump adviser Steven Bannon, who led the campaign for the 2016 presidential election when Donald Trump was elected President of the United States, is now touting the liberating potential of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

At an event in Zurich, according to Coin Desk. In his speech as part of his European speaking tour, Bannon talked about blockchain technology with cryptocurrencies.

Noting the importance of decentralization, Bannon said:

“Central banks are busy depreciating your currency. Central tech conglomerates are trying to undermine your personal sovereignty.”

A former member of the US National Security Council, Bannon was fired from the White House in August 2017.. During his short tenure, he frequently criticized “financial elites,” including those on Wall Street and Silicon Valley.

Bannon now cites cryptocurrencies as an excellent tool to break free from their control:

“We are taking the central banks out of control. This will give us strength again. When you control your money, your data, your citizenship, then you will have real freedom.”
